Vidoori Awarded $7.3M Contract to Modernize U.S. Census Bureau’s CMMU System for 2030

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

HYATTSVILLE, MD, October 6, 2023 – (BUSINESS WIRE) – Vidoori has been awarded a three-year, $7.3 million contract to support the modernization of the U.S. Census Bureau’s (USCB) Clerical Matching and Map Update (CMMU) system. This modernization effort aligns with the USCB’s digital transformation, which focuses on transitioning the Bureau from a survey-centric organization to a data-centric organization. A key component of this effort is developing a CMMU prototype that will serve as a basis for future development.

The USCB’s Post-Enumeration Survey (PES) was introduced in 1950 to counteract any omissions or duplications from the Decennial survey. The intricate PES process, which spans over two years, aligns census data with survey results, ensuring a precise U.S. population estimate. The modernized CMMU system will streamline the 2030 PES, incorporating automation for data collection, comparison, error pinpointing, and other essential tasks. Furthermore, Vidoori will introduce machine learning and AI capabilities to the system, marking a significant stride towards efficiency and resource conservation.

“We are very excited about this further collaboration with the USCB to modernize systems in preparation for the 2030 Decennial Census. This effort will use technology to redefine the PES workload, ensuring the nation benefits from an accurate demographic count,” noted Trong Bui, CEO of Vidoori. This engagement is Vidoori’s second project focused on modernizing USCB systems in preparation for the 2030 Decennial Census.
